Is my direct deposit setup correctly
- Opened a high-yield savings account almost two months ago.
- Tried sending Social Security payment but nothing deposited; no live support.
The “live” chat was a closed loop with no option to actually talk to a person. The email address that I got from your website was not valid.
I opened an account almost two months ago to open a high-yield savings account. I tried to send my social security payment, but there was something wrong, and I charged it to my VA retirement.
Still, nothing was deposited, but I don't know if that is because it too won't work or if I missed the deadline and it will happen this month. I tried for days using the website and the app to get an answer, but they do not have live customer service on either the phone or in chat.
I had to use Google to get this email address. I have never had this much trouble giving money to a bank.

Replace card
Can't get my car replaced for 2 years. There’s money in my account.
I don't know my old Gmail.

Resolved: Direct deposit status
Checking to see if my direct deposit has been set up by the Social Security office. On Thursday 2/05/26, I went to the office to get help. Am I getting direct deposit on 2/12/26?

I still haven't received an email from varo bank about my refund check
- Last Varo email was Jan 9, 2025; no refund update.
- I sent all documents; still no refund info.
- I moved and have nowhere to stay; I am disabled.
Since January 9th 2025 was my last email I received from varo bank I still haven't received another email about my refund check I sent varo all my documents I haven't received and updated on my refund check this is so sad that I had to move from where I was staying now I don't even have a place to stay I am disabled and can barely walk if varo bank would have sent my refund check to the right address I would have a place to live I am not sending no more documents to varo bank they have all my information my address to where I use to live don't get me wrong I still receive mail at that address thank you very much : Richard Favella

Need to make a loan payment today and my card is not working
Just went around and around in a big loop and got nowhere people sometimes would much rather talk to somebody about their problems instead of using a chatbot

- I've been a Varo customer for 3+ years and used $250 advances for 5 months.
- In August I paid back $250 plus the fee and was offered just $75.
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with product or service ordered.
As of September 5, 2025, I got an email from Varo Bank saying that my $200.00 Advance was available. Therefore, I had to borrow the original 75.00 to pay back the amount I didnt want to borrow in the first place, plus a 6.00 fee.
Within 2 minutes, I got an Advance for $250.00. And I paid the money back to the person I borrowed it from, and paid a bill that was due by the 5th of September. I appreciate the promptness of Varo Bank taking care of their mishap, and hopefully we can continue to have a great working relationship. I chose them spefically for thei security and tranparancy.
So it all worked out! Thank you for your assistance in handling this matter on my behalf.
So far, I got se3veral emails saying that I was now eligible for a $100 advance. When I open the email, I get an error message that the page does not exist.
I paid back $270.00 in one lump sum for the past several months and this time, I even paid it early as well increased the amount of Direct Deposits, and all they would advance me is $75.00. With no warning, I could have prepared to be short that amount of money. All of a sudden, I am out $195.00, which is a lot of money for someone who is disabled and on Social Security. I am 62 years old and most of the time not feeling well at all.
How could you do that to someone? It is not right. I like almost everything about Varo, except that. But to top it of sending an email saying that now I have qualified for at least $100, then not even let me get it, and make the page disappear.
I am not paranoid, but it feels like descrimination to me..What do I say to my grandkids?

For the past 5 months, I was getting an Advance of $250.00. I paid it back every month when my direct deposit came, then they would issue another one for me. Well this month August 2025, I paid back $250.00 plus the fee for the Advance. They came back offering me an Advance of $75.00.
I just started getting my retirement checks also, but I felt cheated. The goal is to work towards building up a $2000.00 credit line to be paid back over time. $250.00 is a lot of money to someone on Social Security, then to only get $75.00 of it back in an Advance is just heartbreaking. But to not even be able to talk to anyone on the phone.
I was raised that more important than anything about relationships it is loyalty that is the number one factor. I felt like I was stabbed in the back by my best friend. I waited as long as could to take the 75.00 advance but I really didnt want to accept it. It is very important for customers to be able to talk to their financial institution, especially when it involves the only source of money you have.
I just really cant believe that Varo would be so uncaring. I have not had any problems at all up until recently.

Cash advances are not something to request monthly. It has nothing to do with V being uncaring or you claiming loyalty.
And your statement about $250 being a lot of money to someone on SS is exactly right. After 5 months in a row, V sees a pattern that raises red flags.
